A Few Words of Introduction

WHO ARE WE?
In 1988 we began traveling with friends, offering opportunities to join us to many small groups. On June 1, 2002, Nancy and Bruce Gurnham "retired" from their 21 year career as innkeepers at the Whitman Inn, Kempt, Nova Scotia. For the next 6 years we traveled extensively with the Whitman Travel Group, offering tours to the British Isles, Germany, Italy, the United States, New Zealand Nova Scotia. We then took 2 years off to We have been professionally organizing leisure holiday adventures for over 20 years, and have offered excursions to a dozen countries. In 2011 we are back at it again, so pleas browse around the website, gather your small group of family, and pleas do get in touch. We would be pleased to have you join us in creating a memorable adventure.

We are all about traveling with friends,(groups of 6-8) and finding enjoyment from creating, organizing and conducting enlightening and refreshing adventures in select parts of the world. After 21 years of innkeeping, we are continuing our joy of hospitality and new friendships through small intimate tours that blend our love of music, walking, history, birdwatching and so much more. We operate by finding small groups, ones you gather or some that we find, that want to vacation with activities and exploration.

WHEN DO WE TRAVEL
The Whitman Travel Group operates year round pursueing our leisure walking, specialty and customized discovery tours. We generally travel with our clients in April, May and June, and again in October. Our New Zealand excursions are usually offered in November and March, equating to our Spring and Fall. We like to select specific parts of the world to best take advantage of appropriately fine weather and circumstances; wine tasters in harvest time, springtime in the Alps, Fall in the Rockies, and so on .

WHY ARE WE TOUR ORGANIZERS?
We have never sought a reason to travel, other than we thoroughly enjoy taking new and old friends on experiential learning adventures. We love to share our experiences from Maritime to Mountain scenery, attractions, activities, hospitality and a relaxed way of life. Creating, researching, organizing and conducting holiday adventures is a personally rewarding lifestyle that allows us to travel and be with our friends around the world.Come join us and experience an envigorating yet relaxed holiday.
